As we learned following Phase 1 of the line between Los Angeles and Pasadena, the public investment of building the line can be a stimulus to change and growth around the station areas. Cities east of Pasadena have been planning for those changes as the Authority has been planning the Foothill Extension segments. To date many cities have adopted new zoning and land use regulations to support future growth of transit oriented developments around their station. Today, the Authority released a 15-minute video about the transformation that has occurred around the Phase 1 stations, as well as what is being planned around the future stations.
